Description
Bellow is the link to the two blog posts I created. The first shows my personal perception of technology in the elementary education setting. To go along with my first blog I also created a word cloud shown below. The word cloud incorporates words from my blog post.
The second blog post I created is not only my personal perception but what I have learned and know through my experience in the classroom and evidence from other resources. This blog shows my growth in this class and my new perception of technology in the classroom.

Reflection
Before doing this assignment i thought of blogs as an online
diary. I never saw the value in a blogging because if there was something I
wanted to share with others about me I just told them myself. This assignment
let me see that a blog can be much more than that.
Now I can see that blogs can be used to display academic resources as well. The blog sight we used was nice because it was set up as a classroom. We were each able to get on anytime we needed through our own individual password but our teacher had ultimate access to the page itself. I can see myself using this sight or one similar when I have a class of my own.
Blogging allows for students to publish their own ideas, their own voice, in a public setting. The audience can be as small as the classroom or as large as the whole web. One thing we discussed during this process is digital citizenship. If students are going to use a blog that is public it is important to first address what they can and cannot put on their blog for safety reasons.
In this assignment I had to evaluate and reflect on current research as stated in the standard above. I used the research to help me learn more about technology in the classroom and have a well rounded idea of the advantages and disadvantages.
