Description
The move I have created is meant to be used on the first day of class with my future students. It starts out with me telling the students about one of our first class projects in creating a reading spot for the classroom to look like a deck. It then moves into a little bit about who I am aside from their teacher.
Standards
- NETS*T 4D: Teachers will develop and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using digital-age communication and collaboration tools.
Reflection
The movie assignment made me quite nervous at first but I ended up really enjoying it! It was a fun and exciting way to share information. This movie was about me but I think that the process of movie making is what will carry over most into my future classroom. I did it at the school lab through movie maker but I think it would be interesting especially with older students to try to make them through the Ipad Imovie application.
The point of the video I made here would be to show the students who I am as a person on their first day of school. This video would then not only move into a discussion of what they want in the class reading spot but also something they can replicate of themselves.
The movie can also be used to engage students of all cultures in using technology, as stated in the standard. Students of other cultures can use this tool with little to no talking and it can be a way for them to share a little bit about themselves and their cultural background.
